Privacy policy
Findwell, Inc. keeps a searchable copy of the posts you save so you can find them again. This page says exactly what that copy contains, who can see it, and how to get rid of it.
Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
- Your library is private. Only you can see what you saved.
- We store the link, a thumbnail, and the text we can read from a post: caption, spoken words, and words on screen. We never store or re-host the video or audio itself.
- Your phone number is your account. We text you only because you signed up for it.
- We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone for their marketing.
- Delete your account in the app and your library goes with it.
What we collect
Account details. Your phone number, which is both your login and the number Findwell texts. When you sign up we record the consent you gave to receive texts: the wording you saw, the time, and the number. If you allow notifications, we keep your device’s push token so we can send them, and delete it when you sign out. If you join the waitlist on this website, we keep the email address you entered.
What you save. The link you sent and the raw text of the message it came in. From the link we fetch and keep: the post’s title and caption, the author’s name and handle, a small copy of the author’s profile picture, a thumbnail image, the words spoken in the video, the words shown on screen, and the tags, one-line summary, and category we generate from all of that. When a post is a recipe, workout, job post, event, or product, we also pull out its details in a structured form: ingredients and steps, exercises and sets, company, role and deadline, date and venue, or product name and price, each with a note of where in the post it came from. For each save we also keep when you saved it and when the post was originally published.
What you search for. The questions you text or type, and which result you opened. We use these to measure and improve search. A search that produced a result you didn’t open is how we learn the search was wrong.
Technical logs. Like any web service we receive IP addresses, device and browser type, and request timestamps. We keep these for security and debugging, not for advertising. This website sets no tracking cookies and uses no ad networks.
What we deliberately don't keep
To read the words in a video we may download it briefly. As soon as the transcript and on-screen text are produced, the file is discarded. We do not host, play, or serve the original video or audio, ever. Findwell always links you back to the original post on the platform it came from.
Each person’s library is stored separately. If two people save the same post, each has their own copy, and neither can see the other’s. We do not build a shared collection of content across users.
How we use it
- To save posts, search them, and show them back to you in the app or by text.
- To text you about your account: sign-in codes, save confirmations, and search results.
- If you allow notifications, to send a reminder a couple of days after you save a job post. Turn it off in Settings in the app, or turn off notifications for Findwell in your phone’s settings.
- To improve search quality using what people search for and what they open.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal and carrier obligations.
We do not use your library to train general-purpose AI models, and we do not show you advertising.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of providers to run Findwell, each only for the job named here, and each under terms that stop them using your data for anything else:
- Messaging (Twilio, which sends sign-in codes, and Photon, which delivers Findwell’s texts over iMessage) to verify your phone number and send and receive texts. Your phone number and message contents pass through them.
- Push notifications (Expo, which relays them through Apple’s and Google’s notification services) to deliver reminders. Your device’s push token and the reminder text pass through them.
- Reading content (Anthropic) to turn a post’s caption, images, and transcript into searchable text, summaries, tags, and structured details. The post content is sent to them for processing; your identity is not. Speech-to-text runs on our own servers.
- Search (Anthropic and Cohere) to understand and rank results. Your search question and the text of the saves being ranked are sent to them; your identity is not.
- Hosting and email (Render for our servers, Neon for our database, Cloudflare for the website, Resend for email) to run the service and send waitlist and account emails.
- Crash reports (Sentry) to find and fix errors in the app and our servers. A report carries technical details of the failure and your device type. It can occasionally include the link or message that was being processed when the error happened, never your library as a whole.
- Fonts: this website loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Beyond that, we share personal information only if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a sale or merger of the company, in which case this policy still applies to your data.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Consent to receive texts is never sold or shared.
Content that belongs to other people
The posts you save were made by other people. Findwell keeps a thumbnail and the text it read so that you can find your own saves, on your own behalf, the way a bookmark or a note would. When a creator deletes a post, we keep what was already saved in your library and mark the original as unavailable; we never redistribute it.
If you are a creator and want your content removed from Findwell, email hello@getfindwell.app with a link to the post and we will take it down.
How long we keep it
- Your library is kept until you delete a save or your account.
- Search history is kept while your account is open.
- Shared result links expire on their own after a short period.
- Text consent records are kept after account deletion for as long as carriers require us to be able to prove you opted in.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
- Waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed, or we delete the waitlist after launch.
Your choices
- Export. In the app, Settings, Export everything, gives you your links, tags, and the text we read, in a file you keep.
- Pause texts. Reply STOP to any Findwell text, or use Pause saving in Settings. We stop texting you until you reply START.
- Delete. In the app, Settings, Delete account and archive. This deletes your saves, thumbnails, search history, and result links. It is not reversible.
- Ask us. Email hello@getfindwell.app to access, correct, or delete your data, or to leave the waitlist. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR, including the right to know what we hold and to object to certain processing. Use the same email to exercise them. We do not sell personal information and do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
Findwell is not for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by text or email before it takes effect. The date at the top is always the current version.
Questions about any of this: email hello@getfindwell.app.
